Argyle Vineyard. Established in 2001, this meticulously designed and maintained vineyard is located within the San Antonio AVA, east of the San Antonio Mission. This unique location was specifically selected for its unique microclimate that allows the grapes to obtain the perfect concentration of sugar while maintaining acidity, according to the seller and his consultants who aided in planning the vineyard. Approximately 30 acres in size, planted in Cab Franc, Petite Verdot, Petit Syrah and French Syrah with a history of strong production. The vineyard has production averages between 4 and 9 tons per acre, depending on the varietal. An additional 75+/- acres that could be planted if someone wanted to expand the vineyard, however most of the land is gently rolling and suitable to a wide range of uses. The property has two irrigation wells and two reservoirs. The property is improved with a charming caretakers house and garage/shop area. Across G14-Jolon Road, one can observe the wildlife that frequents that area on Fort Hunter Liggett, such as Deer, Elk and more.
